SAT1E – Assessments & Mobility for The Squat, Bench Press & Deadlift
Join elite powerlifter and S&C expert Jordan Syatt in this session and learn a series of self-assessments that can be used on yourself (or your clients) to quickly identify your mobility, flexibility and/or stability restrictions as well as specific exercises to improve those issues so you can squat deep and pain-free. As world record holder for deadlifting 4 times his own bodyweight Jordan will also teach you the skills so you can deadlift quickly & explosively without back pain while also safely bench press with a full range of motion without hurting your shoulders.

One of the biggest mistakes you see coaches making over and over again is treating their general population clients like competitive powerlifters. Needless to say elite powerlifter Jordan Syatt absolutely loves powerlifting. And he knows by his experience that his gen pop clients have loved incorporating powerlifting style training into their programs (while still focusing on mobility, endurance, muscle definition, and metabolic conditioning). In this session join Jordan as he walks you through his ‘Powerlifting for Gen Pop’ workout strategies so your clients can get strong as all hell and have fun with the powerlifts while continuing to utilise and improve other training modalities as well.

Training mums, especially new mums, is often shoved straight in to the pilates-style training category, with little thought on what we are actually training them for. We are scared off by the idea that heavy lifting can cause prolapse, incontinence, and is generally advised against. However, how does this help a mum lift a 20kg child? Is 20kg even “heavy”? In this session we attempt to sift through the data on heavy lifting for mums, separating fact from fiction, and coming up with a plan that will both avoid lifting-related core injury AND help this mum lift her child.
