SAT2G • Pilates: Pre and Post Natal – the complete package
It is widely accepted that regular exercise plays an important role in promoting health and wellbeing for pregnant women, whilst assisting with post-natal recovery. Pregnancy is a wonderful time in a woman’s life, but one, which can be subject to uncertainty regarding exercise and what is safe and effective. Pilates offers a range of fantastic benefits for both pre/post-natal clients whilst focusing on alignment, core stability, mobility, strength, postural awareness and breathing. These movements assist in developing strength in the deep stabilising muscles; maintaining alignment whilst challenging the core against movement. However, not all Pilates exercises are suitable during pregnancy. In this session, you will learn the various stages of pregnancy, which exercises are ideal for each trimester and how to modify safely. There are no two women’s bodies the same, with this being especially true during and after pregnancy. After the birth we need to be mindful of how and when to incorporate normal activity. You will learn how to incorporate the Pilates principles that will guide your clients easily and safely back to health. This session is the complete pre and post-natal package.
SAT1G • Advanced Pilates progressions
Join Taryn in the exciting workshop where you will learn how to build up to some of the more advanced Pilates exercises. Taryn will lead you through a session that will teach you how to successfully and safely work clients up to the most challenging Pilates repertoire. Exercises like rollover, jackknife, swan dive, boomerang, control balance and open leg rocker will be explored. You will learn how it feels on your own body and how too successfully break the movements down into easily achievable components. With loads of take-home repertoire & skills, this is a session not to be missed.

This workshop focuses on how we can use the selection of asana and alignment to access the energetic body. Experiencing alignment based Vinyasa Flow as an energetic and healing practice as well as a creative outlet and therapeutic platform, where the teacher can use their unique voice and experience to help each student connect to the deeper layers of the body and mind. Moving away from scripted teaching towards creative and intelligent sequencing, while becoming absolutely present with your students.

Teach your clients how to inhabit their body through movement. We often use our body like a vehicle to get around in – and “modernitis” creates a disconnect from our body. This session will help you create conditions where your clients’ ability to learn, think and discover is optimal. It will give you the skills to help your clients address poor posture and excess tension in the body and the mind, and help you teach your clients how to sense their body, through the use of somantic – “feeling” cues.
