SAT2K • Aqua P2P (Plyometrics to Pilates)
Slow to fast, fluid to fierce and tranquil to turbulent, Aqua P2P (plyometric to Pilates) is an excellent program to incorporate mind & body programming into chillier pools. This workout alternates between high-intensity exercise, yoga flow and Pilates core training. The program structure is very simple, each segment is taught for about 5 minutes using higher intensity movements followed by mind & body movements. The class is ready to take away as is or each segment can be used alone as an addition to your normal classes.

SAT2G • Pilates: Pre and Post Natal – the complete package
It is widely accepted that regular exercise plays an important role in promoting health and wellbeing for pregnant women, whilst assisting with post-natal recovery. Pregnancy is a wonderful time in a woman’s life, but one, which can be subject to uncertainty regarding exercise and what is safe and effective. Pilates offers a range of fantastic benefits for both pre/post-natal clients whilst focusing on alignment, core stability, mobility, strength, postural awareness and breathing. These movements assist in developing strength in the deep stabilising muscles; maintaining alignment whilst challenging the core against movement. However, not all Pilates exercises are suitable during pregnancy. In this session, you will learn the various stages of pregnancy, which exercises are ideal for each trimester and how to modify safely. There are no two women’s bodies the same, with this being especially true during and after pregnancy. After the birth we need to be mindful of how and when to incorporate normal activity. You will learn how to incorporate the Pilates principles that will guide your clients easily and safely back to health. This session is the complete pre and post-natal package.

In this talk, Exercise Physiologist, Nutritionist and Neuroscientist Paul Taylor will present a compelling case that humans and their bacteria should be considered part of an essential ecosystem, and will review what the latest research is telling us about the importance of the gut microbiota and the range of environmental and lifestyle factors that influence it – and what we can do about it.
